Concept to Concrete
Epoch Architecture is a leading architectural design practice dedicated to thoughtful, liveable design. We believe exceptional architecture has the power to enhance daily life, creating spaces that are both beautiful and deeply functional.
- Our Projects
We take a contemporary approach to spatial planning, materiality, and architectural form, ensuring each project is tailored to its context and the people who inhabit it.
- Our Process
The preliminary stage is a critical milestone in our architectural process, as it lays the foundation for the entire project. At Epoch, we understand the significance of defining all the parameters of the site to ensure a well-informed and thoughtful design.
The initial concept stage is a thrilling juncture where your project takes its first steps towards realization. At Epoch, this is where creativity ignites, and your vision begins to materialize in design.
The Developed Design stage is a crucial phase where your architectural vision takes on greater depth and detail. At Epoch, we dedicate ourselves to adding structural intricacies to the plans and making critical decisions on suppliers for elements. This stage is where we bring your project to life virtually, virtually building the spaces with meticulous care.
The Detailed Design stage is the final step before the building consent is submitted, marking a
pivotal moment in our architectural process at Epoch. At this stage, we bring together all the crucial elements to ensure a seamless building consent application and enable the construction of your project.

I cannot speak highly enough of Bevan and the team at Ecoworkshop. From the minute we met Bevan it was clear that they were really invested in the project and wanted to understand what was important to us and ensure their design fit both our budget and our vision for the house. I felt very cared for with ecoworkshop - when choices we made increased the cost, Bevan was the first to make sure we understood the decision. Bevan always gave us options and we never felt pressured, only ever well-informed.
The final design is truly incredible and we know it will be our forever home. Thank you so much to the team!
Highly recommended. EPOCH Architecture was the perfect fit for our home renovation project. Super easy to work with and kept us well informed every step of the way. Very happy customer!
Sarah is so fantastic to work with the entire process was simple, clear and timely. Excited for the work to be completed now and grateful for Sarah's expertise. Highly recommended.
It was great when Sarah took us through the plans in her office and were able to show us how things could be changed, almost instantly. Like watching anyone who is really good at what they do is a pleasure. Nice people & great work.
As a bonus when we mentioned that we'd like stained glass this window was recovered by Sarah from an untimely death in a builder's skip so we could get it coloured.
EPOCH Architecture have designed over 40 projects that I have completed as a builder here in Dunedin. Every project, from idea through to completion is handled with unmatched professionalism and skill.
My own home has now had 2 extensions designed by the EPOCH Architecture team and as a home owner I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic Architectural Studio.
Thanks again team.
I am so impressed with Sarah and the team at EPOCH Architecture! They are incredibly professional and get the job done in a timely manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending EPOCH Architecture for any job big or small.
The team at EPOCH Architecture were a pleasure to work with. They were very efficient and made the process seamless. We highly recommend Sarah and the team for all your Architectural needs.
Sarah and her team helped make our vision come to life. Not only amazing at creating the best outcome for planning our home, she was efficient, a quick and responsive communicator and was there every step of the way throughout the project when I needed her.
We approached EPOCH (formerly Eco Workshop) for our deck project. Sarah and her team did a fabulous job, coming to our house, listening to our ideas, and putting them all together. Great communication, easy process and delt with the DCC for all the sign offs! Even sent to builders to gather quotes for us! Would recommend and use again in the future. Took all the stress and worry out of a big task!
Sarah and the team at Epoch have been outstanding from start to finish. Sarah was recommended to me by someone who had used her before, and I wouldn't look to any other business for architectural work in the future. She goes well over and above for her clients, maintains contact to ensure the building process is going well, modifies plans and seeks advice as needed - and is an awesome person to deal with. If she could have Project Managed my build, I know that in her hands things would have been managed extremely well and I would have felt completely at ease knowing she knows her stuff, is confident, backs her clients and does a phenomenal job. I will definitely be back in the future. Their ideas, creative flare, ability to listen and act on their clients' needs, makes communication so much easier and very effective. Couldn't recommend Sarah and the Epoch team enough.
Thanks for the great job
Professional and easy to work with, would not hesitate in recommending Epoch.
Working with EPOCH Architecture has been such a positive experience for us. From the very beginning, the team made us feel heard and supported throughout the whole process. They really took the time to understand what we wanted and helped turn our ideas into a design that felt both beautiful and practical for our lifestyle. What we appreciated most was how easy they were to work with. Communication was always clear, they were patient with our questions and changes, and they guided us through every stage without making things overwhelming. Their creativity and attention to detail truly stood out, and you can tell they genuinely care about the work they do. We also loved their thoughtful and modern approach to design, especially how they considered both functionality and sustainability in the plans. We’re very grateful for their hard work and would happily recommend Epoch to anyone looking for a professional, approachable, and talented architectural team.
Eco-Workshop have an excellent team. I have used them for multiple projects, and they have done a great job in offering excellent ideas, getting our consents through the approval process, all while showing incredible patience with my notes and changes. Highly recommend
We had some ideas about what we wanted. Like photos and picture's we'd gathered of other properties to highlight key features we wanted. Like the look and feel of the lounge and kitchen. What we couldn't do was bring it all together. This is where Sarah and the EPOCH Architecture team brought the magic. They stitched it all together and gave us the design that brought our dream home together. Orientation on the section was key too. This was no issue with some clever software. We were able to see the house in all seasons and at different times of the day and see how the sun would flow through all the feature windows of the house. Thank you Sarah and the team at EPOCH Architecture, we couldn't have done it without you!
