Working closely with the client throughout the design process, the interior was shaped around the way they live, create, and spend time together. Rather than following trends, every decision was guided by their love of nature, colour, craftsmanship, and collecting, resulting in a home that feels deeply personal and unlike any other.
Rich greens, teals and soft blue tones were layered throughout the home to echo the surrounding landscape, while warm timber elements and textured finishes bring depth, character, and a sense of permanence. Existing timber from the family’s former crib was thoughtfully incorporated into the design, adding history and authenticity that couldn’t be replicated with new materials.
The home was designed to support a creative lifestyle. Living spaces prioritise conversation, puzzles, artwork, and natural light over television, while dedicated display areas celebrate books, treasured collections, and the client’s own taxidermied creations. Feature wallpapers, colourful ceilings, and carefully selected lighting create moments of interest without overwhelming the spaces, striking a balance between playful expression and everyday comfort.
Functionality was just as important as aesthetics. Easy-care flooring was selected for life with a dog, bathrooms were designed to reduce grout and maintenance while still feeling warm and inviting, and innovative concepts—such as interchangeable wallpaper behind glass splashbacks—allow elements of the home to evolve over time without major renovations.
Throughout the project, 3D visualisations played a key role in the design process, allowing ideas to be tested, refined, and experienced before construction. This collaborative approach gave the clients the confidence to embrace bold colours and unique materials, ensuring every space felt cohesive and true to their vision.
