Relocating an existing home is about far more than transporting a building from one site to another. Every new location presents its own challenges, requiring careful planning to ensure the home is structurally supported, connected to essential services, and fully compliant with current Building Code requirements.
For this project, EPOCH Architecture prepared the building consent documentation to guide the home through its next chapter. New foundation and services plans were developed to suit the site, while investigations into the existing structure helped determine load paths, durability requirements, and the modifications needed to accommodate the increased exposure conditions.
With the new foundations designed to satisfy minimum floor level requirements and provide long-term performance, the relocated dwelling is now ready to continue its life in a completely new setting.
